Will the iPhone 5 Home Button Support Gestures?
October 18, 2011 • Posted by CrackDefender in News • • 0 commentsIf you’ve been following iPhone 5 news, you know there are many rumors swirling around just what will be included in the
iPhone 5. One of the big gripes from users of the iPhone 4 is that the phone isn’t completely multi touch; the screen works that way, but the home button still remains old school. Multi touch gestures allow people to do a lot more with a lot less movement. But is there any real truth behind these rumors, or is it just a lot of wishful thinking on the part of enthusiasts?
One of the big rumors circulating about the iPhone 5 right now is that it will be sporting a larger home button than the iPhone 4; this means that you’ll be able to use gestures on the home button and extend functionality. Sadly, it’s looking like this is just a rumor and not fact after some parts for the iPhone 5 were released from a Chinese manufacturer on their website.
The part is the “iPhone 5 Home Button Circuit” and it doesn’t appear to support a larger home button than what the iPhone 4 has now. It was a much wanted feature that you could swipe across the home button on the next model, but there’s no real proof that this could be the case. Consumers have wanted this feature so they can do multi touch gestures on the home button and not just the screen.
With the iPhone 5 premiering on the market by mid-October, there will be a lot of people speculating on features; everything from home buttons to how many megapixels will be in the onboard camera. While the iPhone 5 may not have a multi-touch home button, it will have a lot of other cool features that will bring out old fans and new users alike.
